Batavia Air (Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) CEO Yudiawan Tansari has confirmed that the planned acquisition of his airline by a consortium of Fersindo and its partner AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) has been cancelled as the three parties have apparently not been able to reach final agreement on the terms of the transaction. AirAsia and Fersindo had planned to significantly increase their presence in the Indonesian market with the acquisition of Batavia in addition to further expansion of jointly owned subsidiary Indonesia AirAsia (QZ, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta).
