Batavia Air (Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) commercial director Sukirno Sukarna has told the Jakarta Post that Batavia would be in advanced talks with another Indonesian carrier willing to acquire between 40 and 60% in the carrier. Batavia had earlier announced a deal to sell its business to AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) and its Indonesian partner Fersindo but that transaction has been cancelled back in October. Sukarna expects to lease up to 12 additional A320 family aircraft in 2013 to start replacing its B737 fleet currently consisting of 14 B737-300s, 9 B737-400 and a B737-500.
