DAT (Denmark) (DX, Kolding) has been granted a Foreign Air Operator Certificate (FAOC) in Canada and is hoping to secure ACMI contracts in the country later this year.
"With the FAOC, we are now able to operate our Airbus A320/1 capacity from Canadian bases. We look forward to new opportunities abroad in Winter 2024/25," Chief Commercial Officer Robert Rungholm said.
CEO Jesper Rungholm confirmed to ch-aviation that, for now, the project is still speculative as the airline does not have any customers lined up in Canada as yet.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that DAT - which operates a mix of ACMI, charter, and scheduled flights - currently deploys a narrowbody fleet of five A320-200s and one A321-200. It also has a sizeable ATR - Avions de Transport Régional fleet comprising one ATR42-300, one ATR42-300(QC), one ATR42-320, one ATR42-320(QC), three ATR42-500s, two ATR72-200s, two ATR72-200(QC)s, one ATR72-500, and two ATR72-600s.
