Beijing Airlines (BJN, Beijing Capital) has retired its only G550, having replaced it with a recently inducted G650ER, ch-aviation research has revealed.
The executive aviation subsidiary of Air China ended the operations of B-3988 (msn 5532) on April 23, 2024. It subsequently ferried it from Beijing Capital via Anchorage Ted Stevens to Long Beach on April 25-26. The 8.3-year-old business jet was re-registered to a private owner as N102FT on July 24 and flew under the new registration from Long Beach to Miami Opa-Locka on July 31.
Beijing Airlines' fleet currently comprises a single G650ER, one ACJ319-100, one B737-700(BBJ), and three B737-800s. The operator used to have a larger fleet of non-bizliner bizjets, including Falcons, G450s, and a Global Express XRS, but retired most of them by 2019 (one Falcon 7X continued until 2023).
Besides Air China, the shareholders of Beijing Airlines are Beijing Holdings Group Company (18%), Beijing State-Owned Assets Management Company (18%), and Zhongda UBS Investment Company (13%).
