Heron Aviation (HRN, Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, CH) ceased operating Learjet aircraft following the retirement of the single Learjet 35A it had in the fleet since 2020. The operator confirmed to ch-aviation that it had sold the aircraft.
D-CFCF (msn 35A-413) was last active on January 14, 2024, flying between Bursa Yenisehir and Cologne/Bonn, where it has remained parked since. The 43.5-year-old aircraft is set to join the fleet of Quick Air Jet Charter, a German operator specialising in air ambulance services, which already includes three other Learjet 35As. However, all the units of the type in Quick Air Jet Charter's fleet are currently inactive, with the most recently active aircraft parked at Cologne/Bonn since September 4, 2024.
Heron Aviation's fleet currently comprises nine aircraft, including a Citation Jet, a Citation M2, two Citation Mustang (both registered in Spain), a Citation XLS+, a recently inducted Falcon 8X, a Falcon 900EX, a Falcon 900LX, and an E145, operated on behalf of Travelcoup which will soon be transferred to the Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) of Arcus Air. The private jet charter and aircraft management firm is planning to add a 90-seat B737-500 soon.
The operator said it also sold a mothballed Learjet 60, D-CHOW (msn 60-186), which has been stored at Nuremberg since 2022
