PAD Aviation (PVD, Paderborn/Lippstadt) has announced that it has taken over Sylt Air (7E, Westerland), as of January 1, 2025.

The new owner underlined that it had acquired Sylt Air together with its existing air operator's certificate (AOC), a fixed-base operator (FBO) at Westerland airport, and "regular scheduled connections to connect the island of Sylt with a wide variety of cities."

No further details have been announced regarding the transaction, including its value. Neither operator responded to ch-aviation's request for more information.

PAD Aviation operates a fleet of Embraer Executive Jets comprising one Legacy 500, six Phenom 300s, and one Phenom 300E. Sylt Air's fleet consists of two Citation Jet 2+. While both operators focus on the executive charter market, Sylt Air also plies seasonal scheduled services connecting Sylt with Hamburg Helmut Schmidt. Operations in 2025 are due to launch on April 17 and will be flown 9x weekly.
