Bosnian Wand Airlines (Tuzla International) has postponed its inaugural flight from Sarajevo to Amsterdam Schiphol from the original Friday, January 9, to a yet-to-be-determined date. Bosnian media outlets quote company spokesmen as saying the delay was brought on not by a lack of demand, but rather as a result of cabin crew requiring more time to complete critical training. A new date is expected to be announced this week.
Backed by Iraq's Al Wand Group, the virtual carrier will open up additional routes to Athens, Gothenburg Landvetter, Frankfurt International, and Stockholm Arlanda in the near future with longterm plans said to include service to Jeddah International, Tehran Mehrabad, Baghdad, Najaf, Erbil, and Sulaymaniyah.
Service is on-board an A321-100, F-GYAN (cn 535), chartered from Greek carrier Hermes Airlines (Athens). The aircraft was flown to Sarajevo on January 8.
