Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) has cancelled the respective Air Operators Certificates (AOC) of UTair-Express (Syktyvkar) and Tomskavia (Tomsk) after neither carrier moved to resume operations within the 90-day deadline given to each earlier in the year.
UTair-Express parent UTair (UT, Khanty-Mansiysk) asked Rosaviatsia to suspend its subsidiary's AOC in April this year as part of plans to consolidate operations under its Impulse restructuring programme. UTair-Express's fleet of fifteen ATR72-500s has now been absorbed into that of UTair.
For its part, Tomskavia's AOC was suspended by Rosaviatsia in April after an inspection of its operations showed the airline to be in violation of several Russian air regulations. Among the violations were that it had been operating only one airworthy aircraft whereas its AOC's terms and conditions require a minimum of three. The airline was given until July 17 to rectify the situation.
