Flexjet (United Kingdom) (Birmingham, GB) says it has acquired FlairJet (United Kingdom) (Oxford Kidlington) from Marshall of Cambridge Aerospace Ltd, an operating company within UK aerospace and defense contractor firm, Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group.
A virtual carrier owned, in part, by Texas-based Flexjet (LXJ, Cleveland Cuyahoga Country), Flexjet (UK) will use FlairJet's UK Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) to operate point-to-point services within the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) region using a fleet of eight Nextant 400XTi light jets. Aircraft will also be made available on a charter basis for intra-EMEA charters.
“These initial plans will be in effect by the end of the year,” added Raymond Jones, London-based Managing Director – Flexjet, Ltd. “We are in the process of developing additional programs that are in step with the market demands of the EMEA region, and are carefully tailored to the unique needs of private jet travelers in this part of the world.”
