Air Costa Rica (San José Juan Santamaría) has commenced operations with its maiden commercial flight on Friday, February 10.
Air Costa Rica said via its social media accounts that it had used its sole aircraft, B737-300(QC) TI-BGV (msn 25159), to conduct charter flights between San José Juan Santamaría and Rio Hato in Panama.
As previously reported, the Air Panama (7P, Panamá City Paitilla) subsidiary has decided against entering the scheduled passenger market as yet, preferring instead to focus on the charter segment while the Central American market stabilizes. As such, it already has other charter contracts lined up for flying to Mexico, Honduras, Colombia, and Peru.
