Harris Aircraft Services (Sitka) has finalised its filing with the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) and has been granted a certificate of public convenience and necessity allowing it to operate scheduled interstate flights ferrying persons, property, and mail.
The certificate had been issued last August pending the receipt of further documents, namely its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) and liability insurance. The AOC was issued to the Alaskan carrier in late December, and Harris is now certified to conduct interstate scheduled air transportation as at January 18.
According to its website, Harris Air Services operates scheduled services from Sitka to Hoonah, Juneau International, Angoon, Petersburg James A. Johnson, Kake, Wrangell, and Klawock in Alaska's panhandle in the southeast region of the state.
