Tropic Ocean Airways (TI, Fort Lauderdale International) will open a base at San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin Airport in Puerto Rico, chief executive Rob Ceravolo has announced.
In a statement, Ceravolo said the Florida-based operator would soon begin offering passenger charter flights from the Jet Aviation terminal at Luis Muñoz Marín Airport to safe water landing areas across Puerto Rico, including the islands of Vieques and Culebra, as well as to neighbouring island states such as the British and US Virgin Islands, Antigua, St. Maarten, St. Kitts & Nevis, and Anguilla. In addition, it will also offer sightseeing and day trip excursions from San Juan.
Operations will be onboard a single Cessna (single turboprop) Cessna Grand Caravan EX amphibian, he said.
Tropic Ocean Airways operates a fleet of ten Cessna Grand Caravans and single Cessna (single piston) 206 on scheduled passenger flights covering Florida, The Bahamas and New York, where it offers service to areas such as the Hamptons.
