Kargo Xpress (Kuala Lumpur International) plans to quickly expand its fleet over the coming months with its maiden B737-800 freighters due to arrive during the fourth quarter of 2021 and its first B767-300 freighters in 2022, Cargo Facts has reported.
The airline obtained its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) in June 2021 and launched with a single B737-400(F) on June 10. It plans to add its first two B737-800 freighters by the end of the year but did not identify the conversion variants, let alone the specific aircraft. In 2022, Kargo Xpress plans to expand with the addition of a further B737-400(F), two more B737-800 freighters, and its first two widebodies, namely B767-300 freighters. It also did not identify the specific B767 freighter variant.
The Malaysian carrier, formally known as M Jets International Sdn Bhd., said its growth plans were partially driven by opportunities to fly for local e-commerce giants, including China's Alibaba and its Singaporean subsidiary, the Lazada Group.
