Monarch Air (Dallas Addison) is a Dallas-based flight school looking to offer scheduled passenger flights within Texas using a fleet of three Beech (twin turboprop)s it plans to acquire. In its application for a commuter airline licence lodged with the US Department of Transportation (DoT), Monarch says it plans to offer flights on a membership basis.
Under the RISE (United States of America) (Dallas Love Field) brand, the carrier will initially connect Dallas Love Field with Houston David Wayne Hooks and Austin-Bergstrom International with the number of flights to be dictated by demand although within the first year of operations, at least four daily roundtrip flights between Dallas and Houston and two daily roundtrip flights between Dallas and Austin are contemplated.
In addition, based on member demand, the carrier may expand operations to include the San Antonio and Midland markets in Texas and the Oklahoma City and Tulsa markets in Oklahoma.
At present, Monarch is licensed to offer ad-hoc charter flights using its existing fleet of two Beech King Air B200s, one Beech King Air B300, one Cessna 525 Citation, one IAI 1124, one IAI 1124A, and one Learjet 31.
