Air China (CA, Beijing Capital) and Air China Cargo (CA, Beijing Capital) have agreed to a USD50 million settlement as part of the ongoing Air Cargo Shipping Services Antitrust Litigation suit which alleges they conspired with other air freight carriers to fix the prices of cargo shipments between January 2000 and September 2006.
Air India (AI, Delhi International) and Air New Zealand (NZ, Auckland International) have held out against settling and are now preparing for a September 2016 trial against them.
To date, plaintiffs have entered into settlements with twenty-five defendant groups totalling USD1.14 billion, of which settlements with twenty-two defendant groups for USD848 million have been granted final approval by a court in the Eastern District of New York.
