JetGo Australia (Brisbane International) has abandoned its Sydney Kingsford Smith to Gladstone service just three months after its launch citing a lack of support from corporate clients.
"Despite patronage slowly building, the future modelling predicts it would take at least six months before the flights would get to break even. So we have made the decision to redeploy the aircraft to more profitable parts of the business," the carrier said via social media.
Jetgo managing director Paul Bredereck said the majority of passengers on the route were mainly locals and leisure passengers adding that found the carrier had found it difficult to 'obtain any significant corporate support' vital to the route's sustainability.
The last flight is scheduled for February 8.
JetGo's other scheduled route from Australia's biggest city, Sydney to Roma, was scrubbed ahead of its launch in December last year citing low demand.
JetGo will continue to offer a three times weekly service from Brisbane to Tamworth.
