JetGo Australia (Brisbane International) will commence flights to Melbourne later this month airline Managing Director Paul Bredereck has revealed. Flights from Dubbo will initially operate to Melbourne Avalon before switching to Melbourne Essendon once security and red tape issues there have been resolved.
“It was quite important for us and the Dubbo community to get the new services established this year but that looked unlikely when we failed to secure access to Melbourne Airport and the security issues surfaced at Essendon. However Avalon Airport has simply been fantastic in accommodating our needs even though our services may only be temporary,” Bredereck said.
The flights will commence on October 27 and follow strong demand for service to Australia's financial centres from Dubbo's business community.
JetGo operates a trio of E135s (with three E140s to be inducted shortly) on flights connecting Brisbane International, Dubbo, Gold Coast Coolangatta, Tamworth, Townsville, and Rockhampton.
