Great Barrier Airlines (Auckland International) will commence multiple daily Kaitaia to Auckland International flights in April after entering into an agreement with Far North Holdings, the operator of Kaitaia Airport. Service is on-board a Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravan 208B.
As previously reported, Air New Zealand (NZ, Auckland International) will terminate its Eagle Airways-operated services to Kaitaia, Whakatane and Westport from the end of April citing a lack of demand.
Founded in 1983, Great Barrier Airlines serves Great Barrier Island, Whangarei, Tauranga, and North Shore, from its Auckland International hub.
