Barrier Air (Auckland International) is to commence scheduled flights to North Shore airport, a small, uncontrolled aerodrome located 3.7 km, outside of Auckland, on New Zealand's North Island, next month. The carrier announced via social media that flights from Auckland International will operate twice daily during weekdays with effect from February 1, 2016.
Sunair Aviation (Tauranga) has expressed similar plans albeit to connect North Shore with Hamilton, NZ, Tauranga and Rotorua using its fleet of Piper (twin piston) Aztecs.
For its part, North Shore Air (North Shore) operated scheduled flights from North Shore to Kerikeri and Tauranga for a month after it launched in September last year. However, poor loads ultimately forced it to abandon those flights.
