Prinair (San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin) has resumed scheduled flight operations as of Monday, March 18, 2019. Using a trio of Beech (twin turboprop) A100 King Airs, the resurgent Puerto Rican carrier is offering 2x weekly return flights between Aguadilla and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
Airline vice president, Juan I. Hernandez, told the Inter News Service (INS) that the relaunch had been made possible via a USD2.5 million investment.
"With the new fleet and more than twenty years of experience, the airline is betting on expanding the island's connectivity with other destinations and the development of a new business plan focused on attractive offers in quality and price," he said.
Also known as Puerto Rico International Airlines, Prinair (1967) operated commercially from 1967 to 1985 but left the market after the arrival of Executive Airlines (Puerto Rico) (operated under the American Eagle brand) forced it out of the market and into bankruptcy.
