XOJET Aviation (XOJ, Fort Lauderdale Executive) is to relocate the bulk of its headquarters to South Florida from its existing base at Sacramento Mc Clellan, California, according to AIN Online. Known more formally as XO Powered by JetSmarter (Fort Lauderdale Executive), the business jet operator will move to Fort Lauderdale Executive, in the same Florida city where fellow subsidiary and mobile booking app developer JetSmarter has its US office.
"Moving our headquarters will allow teams to work more efficiently with our key partners and will increase key departments’ responsiveness and improve efficiencies for clients as well as provide a location that will allow us to attract world-class talent,” XOJet Aviation President and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Thomas said. The company will set up temporary space for 250 employees on the north side of the executive airport while a 40,000 square foot (3,716 sqm) building is being built.
Vista Global executives had already signalled the translocation, saying that an East Coast US location would allow for better communications with the group's European offices in London, Nice, Malta International, and Salzburg. No date for the move has been fixed.
XOJet has been based in North California since its launch in 2006. Its floating fleet of over 40 mid-size aircraft, including the Cessna 750 and Challenger 300, do not return to a home base between or after missions, so there will be no need for any of XOJET's fleet to move its new location. In addition to its own fleet, XOJet has access to another 1,500 aircraft under management.
XOJET Aviation was spun off from VistaGlobal to comply with US foreign ownership restrictions after the purchase. The UAE-based company acquired the brand, as well as the sales and marketing infrastructure, and XOJET’s sales arm was merged with the also acquired JetSmarter to form XO.
